SNRKY is operated by Ritual Enterprises LLC. This policy explains what data we collect when you use getsnrky.com, what we do with it, and what we don't do — which is most things.
City name: When you type a city and search, that city name is sent to our weather API and to our snark engine. It is not stored by us, not logged to a database, and not associated with any profile. It's used to fetch your forecast and immediately discarded.
Approximate location: If you use the "Use My Location" feature, your browser sends your coordinates to our weather API to determine your nearest city. We do not store these coordinates. They are used for a single API call and not retained.
Server logs: Like all web servers, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic request data — IP address, timestamp, URL accessed, and browser type. These logs are retained by Vercel per their standard data retention policies. We do not access these logs for marketing purposes.
Google AdSense: This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites across the web. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit here and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads. For more information on how Google collects and uses data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Open-Meteo: Weather data is fetched directly from Open-Meteo's free public API. Your city name or coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve forecast data. Open-Meteo does not require an API key and does not receive any personally identifiable information beyond the location query.
Anthropic: Snark commentary is generated by Anthropic's Claude API. When you request snark, your city name and current weather conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, UV index) are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the response. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Anthropic's data handling is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
SNRKY uses Google AdSense to display advertising. This is how the site pays for itself. Google may collect data about you through ad cookies in order to serve relevant ads. We don't control which ads appear or what data Google collects for that purpose — that's between you and Google.

All traffic to getsnrky.com is served over HTTPS. We do not store personal data on our servers. Our snark API (the only server-side function we operate) receives a weather payload, calls Anthropic's API, and returns a text response — nothing is written to any database or log file by our code.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of SNRKY after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If the changes are significant, we'll try to give you a heads-up — though we make no promises, because that would require a notification system, which would require collecting your email, which we explicitly said we don't do.
